SWICA Master groups are run as plus "+" categories with 3s snot age limited categories (i.e. 35+ not 35-44).
Cat 3 masters can self-select their race.   This allows, for example, a 55-year-old cat 3 to race in the Master 45+A, 45+B or 55+ or Senior Cat 3 as he
chooses.
Sandbaggers will be subject to ridicule.

Race Levels assigned based on historic racer turnout/competitiveness/perceived difficulty and subjective factors.

All Cat 5 men’s events are scored as 10 or fewer racers training events for BAT Only

Best Area Racer is open to IDAHO USAC racers holding an annual license. 14 individual Jerseys are potentially available in 2012.  Riders from outside Idaho do not get points towards BAR (or BAT) but may prevent points from being scored by local riders.   Rider with the most overall points at the end of the season in that category’s races wins the championship.  SWICA funds championship jerseys.

There must be at least 5 racers who have scored in a category during the season for a jersey to be awarded.

AND

The racer with the most points in a category must have scored in at least 5 events for a jersey to be awarded in that category for the season.

Best Area Team must be part of a SWICA member USAC club (geographically based within SWICA.)  BAT winner is the team with the most points combined from all eligible riders for the season.  (Only top 3 scores for team riders in each category at an event count towards BAT)  SWICA funds traveling plaque.

Points do not transfer between categories or teams.  Racers who race in both a senior category (ie Cat 3) and a masters or Jr. category will get scored separately in the categories.  Likewise, riders who change senior categories during the year (upgrades or downgrades) DO NOT carry points with them.  Racers who race in multiple Masters Categories likewise do not carry points between categories.  This means, among other things, Cat 3 women cannot earn points for the 3/4 jersey in 1/2/3 races.

Points earned in any category raced do count towards the BAT championship.   Riders will have their name listed in every category in which they score in a SWICA BAR race. Riders who change teams do not take BAT points.

Riders who race in jerseys of SWICA teams other than their BAT team are not eligible to score and if noted will not get points for that race.

No points awarded for overall placing in stage races or omniums.

Points only awarded in registered category for actual placing in a race.

a.        If a race combines SWICA categories and scores racers together (i.e. a Mens 1/2/3 race) points will be awarded to the racer for his overall finish position as if the race was a single category.  This means if you are the 6th finisher but the 1st Cat 3 you will get 6th place Cat 3 points.

b           If a race combines categories but scores racers separately you will get points for your category finish.  (ie. a combined Mens 1/2  and Mens 3 start with seperate winners in the official results)

c           Women Masters Races will get points in the 3-4 women’s category.

d.               Series events that do not offer the exact categories as the SWICA Bar will be given points if all racers in a category can participate in a race in which they can earn points.

e.               TTs scored by traditional master age groups will be combined by distance for SWICA points scoring.  Riders will receive points in the category in which they most regularly compete

Only USAC sanctioned races can be part of the series.

Results should be submitted in a format consistent with the BAR Categories to idahobikeracing@yahoo.com .

Races listed on the series list will not be included if promoter does not provide results within 10 days of the event.
