Master groups are run as "+" categories not age limited (35+ not 35-44). This allows a 48 year old cat 2 to race with the younger group if he chooses.

Race Levels assigned based on historic racer turnout/competitiveness/perceived difficulty and subjective factors.

Best Area Racer is open to any IDAHO licensed USAC-Road (USCF) rider. 14 individual Jerseys are available in 2008.  Riders from outside Idaho do not get points towards BAR or BAT but may prevent points from being scored by in-competition riders.   Rider with the most overall points at the end of the season in that category’s races wins the championship.  SWICA funds championship jerseys.

Best Area Team must be part of a SWICA member USAC club (geographically based within SWICA.)  BAT winner is the team with the most points combined from all BAR eligible riders on the team for the season.  (Total of all points for all eligible riders who are licensed as affiliated with that team.)  SWICA funds traveling plaque.

Points do not transfer between categories.  Racers who race in both a senior category (ie Cat 3) and a masters or junior category will get scored separately in the categories.  Likewise, riders who change senior categories during the year (upgrades or downgrades) DO NOT carry points with them.  Racers who race in multiple Masters categories likewise do not carry points between categories.  This means, among other things, Cat 3 women cannot earn points for the 3/4 jersey in 1/2/3 races and 15 year old juniors cannot earn points for the 10-15 jersey in 15-18 races. All points earned in any category raced do count towards the BAT championship.   Riders will have their name listed in every category in which they score in a SWICA BAR race.

No points awarded for overall placing in stage races.

Points only awarded in registered category for actual placing in a race.

a.             If a race combines SWICA categories and scores racers together (i.e. a Mens 1/2/3 race) points will be awarded to the racer for his overall finish position as if the race was a single category.  This means if you are the 6th finisher but the 1st Cat 3 you will get 6th place Cat 3 points.

b.                     If a race combines categories but scores racers separately you will get points for your category finish.

c.                     Women Masters Races will get points in the 3-4 women’s category.

d.                     Points can be scored in events that do not split masters into A & B or offer 55+ categories.  Points will be given for actual placement in the event in the SWICA masters category last scored in by the racer.

Only USCF sanctioned races can be part of the series.  Results should be submitted in a format consistent with the BAR Categories to Kurt Holzer at kurtholzer@hotmail.com.  Series events that do not offer the exact categories as the SWICA Bar will be given points if all racers in a category can all participate in a race in which they can earn points.
